Sourceport question
« on: February 19, 2017, 07:00:39 AM »
Does the selected sourceport engine have any bearing upon the resulting map layout or geometry generated? In other words, will selecting GZDoom produce a more complex map than selecting "limit removing"? I ask because I seem to recall seeing bridges in maps from earlier OBLIGE versions but have not seen any with 7.50, and also simply because I just love big complex maps.

Thanks.

As far as I've seen, no.

There are some modules that only appear when the engine is ZDoom (or a derivative).  That is the main difference atm.

Also you won't get the altered map names shown on the automap unless the engine is Boom or a compatible engine (nearly all the source ports are Boom compatible).

OK. Having fun experimenting with different settings. Thanks!
