Title: Can wads be named automatically to match the title screen?
Post by: caligari87 on July 03, 2017, 11:10:05 PM
One thing I've been doing lately, is generating a levelset and immediately opening it in SLADE to check the titlepic, then immediately renaming my generic "oblige.wad" to something like "cold-fields.wad" or "temple-of-pain.wad". Is this something that could be automated, either autofilling a pre-determined title in the save box before generation, or an option to automatically rename the file after generation?

(I actually asked this somewhere else in another thread, but I think it got missed. Sorry if already answered)

It is a good idea, but rather difficult to implement.

I will look into it though.

I tend to label my filenames by version number (IE 7.55 is 755.wad, etc)

I'm the same way. My file names usually look something like: 7.55e D2 HELL 1963465448.

by editing some Lua code, namely the ob_default_filename function, you will be able to make the default filename anything you want.
